This animation was created entirely in Blender 4.5. I set out to update a low-poly character model I originally made in Maya for a 3D platformer prototype, back when I had less experience. After spending about two weeks learning Blender, I rebuilt the character with more detail, giving him separate hair geometry and 3D eyes. I used Rigify to generate and tweak a rig, then animated his movements. I separated the hands, feet, legs, head, hair, and scarf into their own materials and created a simple toon shader for them. I also added soft-body physics to the hair and applied similar shaders to a new monster model. Finally, I animated the camera, added Grease Pencil effects to the character, and rendered the scene.
